In Dog Training Camps proper behaviors are taught and unwanted ones re-trained by a professional Trainer in a fraction of the time it will take you to train your dog yourself.
One of the advantages of a dog training camp over private coaching or group lessons, is that it is the fastest way to get your dog trained and fix potential behavioral issues. You are letting a professional dog trainer do the heavy lifting for you.
An experienced trainer can teach, diagnose and tweak behaviors in a fraction of the time and much more effectively. Especially, if you have a demanding schedule that doesn?t allow for the amount of training sessions and homework required in private one-on-ones. Camps are also the route to take, if your pup is dealing with more severe behavioral issues.
Rely on me for the Heavy Lifting
In Camp your dog will come to live with me for a number of weeks. During that time I will train your dog for you, and in joint follow-up sessions provide you with the knowledge of how to handle your newly trained companion.
The duration of each Camp and the number of Follow-Up Sessions will vary by camp and occasionally also be influenced by your dog?s age and/or how engrained certain behaviors or issues are. However, you are purchasing the training, not paying for my time. So you will know exactly what your final cost for training is before we get started.
Customized Solutions
No matter the breed, age, size or temperament; whether you are struggling with more serious behavioral issues or more common ones, such as leash-pulling or jumping; want basic obedience or advanced training. I customize my Dog Training Camps to accommodate my Client?s goals and specific needs. Factors include background of your pup (e. g. rescues with past traumata), age, social issues, desired level of obedience (from the very basics, to training for service tasks or dog sports).
All Inclusive Services
All my camps by default include Housebreaking, Crate Training, Socialization and proper Manners, as those are the very bare essentials that every dog should have, understand & respect. Each Camp also includes the must-have obedience behaviors sit, down, stay and lose leash walk.
More advanced behaviors, such as off-leash heeling, staying in a given command or place, recall under distractions or addressing aggressive or possessive behavioral issues, will be customized to your dog?s needs and your goals. We will talk in detail during our Consultation. I will help guide you to the program best suited to accommodate your specific situation.
How young can Your Dog start Camp?
Puppy ?Kinder-Camp? can start as early as 8 weeks of age. The focus of this training camp is on housebreaking, proper socialization, manners and basic obedience (as appropriate for the age).
“Kinder Camp” will let you focus on your daily life. No sleepless nights taking care of the little rascal. It will also ensure that your puppy gets the proper introduction to the world. Thus eliminating the chance for accidentally creating certain issues in puppy-childhood, that might surface down the road.
Adult dogs are welcome at any age and for any level of training.
Follow-Up is Key!
Adequate follow-up is essential to the success of any camp or training. Teaching your dog certain behaviors is only a comparatively small portion of the whole. The sustained retention of anything your dog learns, is based on proper reinforcement and knowing how to respond to and communicate with your dog.
That is why all my Dog Training Camps come with a number of mandatory Follow-up Sessions, during which I will provide you with the knowledge of how to transfer the respect over to you, handle your dog and maintain the newly learned behaviors.
Since your joint success is my goal, I will be by your side past your Follow-Up Sessions to continue to help you properly respond to your dog in new situations, provide you with more guidance and help get you back on track, if any questions pop up along the way.
Your Dog comes to me as part of my Family.
If you?ve read the About page, you already know that after having owned & operated a larger scale dog training center for many years, I have decided to get back to the truly personalized approach of more in-depth training on a small scale. Back to a more directed focus. Back to taking your pup in to live with me in my home, away from kennel-settings and the inherent risks. Aside from the latter, creating a somewhat similar picture to what every-day-life looks like for your pooch in your own home, has proven a lot more efficient, as it allows me to see and fix the issues you are experiencing with your dog first hand.
Work Hard, Play Hard
Aside from Obedience Training, I also provide extensive socialization and daily playtime. Either with me or, temperament allowing, with my own dog or fellow campers in my fully fenced yard.
The biggest obstacle to overcome, is typically that camp means you will be away from your little rascal for a little while. Of course you will miss your pup! Rest assured, however, I will do my very best to make sure the time apart is bearable. You will receive pictures and/or videos and we will be in touch throughout the duration of the Camp.
